Abraham Wigle's Will - 7th Sept. 1821

This article is a transcript, of a photo-copy, of the will of Abraham Wigle (Weigel). A photo-copy is in the possession of this writer.

A search of our family records has not turned up the connection with this individual. As stated above, a photo-copy remains in our possession, and it is shown here in the hopes that someone may find some connection to their family. Until then, it will be simply for general informational purposes.

In the Name of God Amen. I Abraham Wigle of Beaver County in the State of Pennsylvania farmer being weak in Body, but of Sound mind memory & understanding, blessed be God for the Same; But Considering the uncertainty of this transitory life, do make and publish this my last Will and testament in manner and form following to wit, ----- principally and first of all I commend my immortal Soul into the hands of God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a decent and Christian like manner at the discretion of My executors herein after named and as to such worldly Estate wherewith it has pleased God to bless me in this life. I give and dispose of the Same in the following manner to wit I give and devise, it is my will that my Just debts and funeral expences be paid by my executors herein after named as soon after my decease as conveniently may be and that as soon as possible a true inventory (and appraisement) may be taken of all my movables and effects outstanding debts and further personal property. ---

I give and bequeath unto my dear wife Jane the third of all my personal property and the Interest of the third of my real Estate, but if she marries then she shall be dispossessed of the premises.

I give and bequeath unto Sarah my Daughter one share. ----

I give and bequeath unto Margret my Daughter one Share. ----

I give and bequeath unto William my son two Shares. ----

I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Agnys one Share. ----

I give and bequeath unto my Daughter Cathreenah one Share. ----

I give and bequeath unto John my Son two Shares. ----

I give and bequeath unto Abraham my Son two Shares. ----

I give and bequeath unto Daniel my Son two Shares. ----

If there should be born of my legal heirs some more. --- If a Son two shares. If a Daughter one share, --- And I do herewith authorise my executors to Sell my real estate either by private or publick Sale as they think proper and make Good Conveyances for the Same, but Sell to the best advantage.----

And lastly I nominate constitute and appoint my said wife and my friend Robert Wallace to be the executors of this my will hereby revoking all other wills Legacies and bequests by me heretofore made and declaring this and no other to be my last will and testament. In witness signed sealed, published pronounced and declared by the Said testator as his last Will & Testament. ----
