Last Will of Daniel
Weigel Sr. dec'd, Reg'd 11th Aug 1852
- I Daniel Weigel Senior of the Township of Moon in the County of
Beaver, considering the uncertainty of this mortal life, and being
yet of sound mind and memory (God Almighty be blessed for the same)
do make and publish this my last Will and Testament, hereby revoke
and making void all former Wills by me at any time heretofore made.
And First I direct that all my Just debts, financial expenses, and
the registering and proving of this my last Will and testament shall
be paid as soon as possible after my decease out of the first moneys
that shall come into the hands of my Executor from my personal
estate. Also I give and bequeath unto my son Washington Weigel all
that messuage or piece of land situate in Moon township, Beaver
County aforesaid adjoining land of Thomas W. Ayres and Israel
Bentels heirs, and a lane running along land of John Wilhelm, it
being the remainder of a piece of land which came to me by my father
Daniel Weigel dec'd, and the same on which my said son Washington
now lives. Provided though and under the condition, that my said son
Washington Weigel pays unto my grandson Hiram Meanor twelve months
after my decease the sum of five dollars, and unto my grandson
Harrison Meanor two years after my decease, also the sum of five
dollars. __ Also I give and bequeath unto my son Daniel Weigel, all
my Carpenters tools and tools chest. Also I give and bequeath unto
my grand children Louisa and Virginia Weigel, daughters of my son
Jacob Weigel, the sum of fifteen dollars each to be paid to them,
when they attain the age of eighteen years respectively. Also I give
and bequeath unto my grand children Morton, Maryatt and Mandy
Weigel, children of my son Harrison Weigel the sum of Five dollars
each, to be paid to them by my executor as soon as possible after my
decease. Also I give and bequeath unto my grandson Elijah, son of
John Eckler my rifle gun. Also I give and bequeath my bed and
bedding unto my grand daughter Catharine Ann, daughter of said John
Eckler. Also I give and bequeath unto my daughter Nancy, wife of
said John Eckler, the sum of three dollars. Also I give and bequeath
unto my daughter, Sarah, widow of John Carry late of Moon township
deceased, the sum of One Dollar. Also I give and bequeath unto my
son-in-law the said John Eckler, all my wearing apparel. Also, I
give and bequeath all my Books unto my sons Daniel, Jacob, Harrison
A. and Washington, who may divide them amongst themselves or sell
them and divide the proceeds. All my other household furniture and
kitchen utensils, Clock, _____? I give and bequeath to my son
Harrison A. Weigel who is in possession thereof. All my remaining
estate, after my debts, funeral expenses & other expenses, and
the above made bequests are paid, I give and bequeath unto my two
sons Daniel Weigel and Jacob Weigel, to be divided among them, share
and share alike. And I do hereby make and ordain Frances LeGoullon
of Phillipsburgh, Beaver County Executor of this my last Will and
Testament.

- In Witness whereof, I Daniel Weigel, the testator have to this my
Will and testament, set my hand and seal this twenty sixth day of
February in the year of Our Lord one thousand eight hundred and
fifty two.

- Signed, sealed and delivered in the presence of us who have
subscribed in the presence of each other.

- Beaver County ss. ___ Be it remembered that on the 11th day of
August, AD 1852 Before me William McCallister Register for the
Probate of Wills, acc. in and for said County, personally came Jacob
Schafer and Henry A. Johnson subscribing witnesses to the foregoing
Will, who being duly sworn according to law, depose and say that
they were present and saw Daniel Weigel Sr. the Testator sign and
seal, and heard him publish pronounce and declare the forgoing
instrument of writing as and for his last Will and Testament, and
that the same time he the said Testator was of sound mind and memory
and understanding doing to the best of these deponents knowledge
observation and belief.
