This article is a transcript, of a photo-copy, of the will of one, Agnes Weigel. The photo-copy being in the possession of this writer.

It is appropriate to note that the individual named below as "Agnes Wigal" is listed in our genealogy pages as Anna Weibler Weigel, wife of Daniel Weigel, the oldest ancestor traceable in our Weigel heritage. Daniel and Anna's background was traced to Lancaster County, Pennsylvania. Although little is known of Anna (Agnes) background, we know that Daniel and Anna's three oldest children were baptized in The First Reformed Church of Lancaster, Pennsylvania.

The difference in spelling of the names could well have been one of education, or lack thereof. Numerous abnormalities are noted in the spelling of names within this will when compared to family Bibles and other notes.

Last Will of Agnes Wigal, 6th Sept. 1820

In the name of God Amen! I Agnes Wigal widow and relict of Daniel Wigal deceased being of very low and weak in Body but of sound Mind and Memory, thanks be to Almighty God for his Mercies ----- First I recommend my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried in a Christian manner ----.

Item 2. It is my will and I do order that my Bed and Beding and my Spinning & I do hereby give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Agnes Hart at my decease to as follows that is to say .  Item 3. I give and bequeath unto my beloved Sons and Daughter Susanah Bickerstaff or other grand Children of  James Harts' family or to such of them or any of them who shall be living at my decease to wit as follows that is to say, my son John shall have one share, my son Daniel shall have one share and my Daughter Susanah Bickerstaff shall have one share and eight grand children shall have one share, that is James Harts' Children. And I do order that my just debts and funeral expences be paid as soon as convenient can be and the residue of all my Estate Debts and Credits Goods & Chattels the family Bible excepted which I give to my Son Daniel over and above his share, and ten Dollars to Mary Fisher, and to my Daughter Barbara Smull ten Dollars, and to my Daughter Elizabeth Keller ten Dollars, and do order that the property be not sold, but a just valuation put on all the property for which I do ordain and appoint my trusty Friend M. Baker to do any.....{ author's note---- this is the end of one photocopied page and there seems to be a line or two missing at this point----}.... the same honestly and faithfully. ---- In witness whereof I have set my hand and seal this twenty fourth day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty.

{In the presence of Samuel Law}

Beaver County --- Be it remembered that on the 6th day of September A.D. 1820, Before me David Johnson Register for the probate of Wills Acc in and for said County personally came Samuel Law who being duly sworn did depose and say that he was personally present and heard and saw the Testatrix sign publish and Declare the foregoing instrument as and for her last will and Testament--- that at the time of so doing she was of sound mind and Memory, to the Best of this Deponents Judgment and belief and that the testatrix's Desire he signed the same as a witness.
