This photo is of three close friends. From left to right Edna Weigel Potter, Alice Hayward and Elsie Gallagher McGowan. The photo is taken at the "Red Gate" home of the Henry B. Weigel family in Monaca, Beaver County, PA. There is no date written on this photo and I'm terrible with ages but my Aunt Edna was born in 1899 and married in 1927. It is not possible to know for certain but the girls don't look like they're much older than their late teens. I'm guessing that the photo was taken between 1915 and 1920. Any of you "fashion" experts able to get the date any closer based on the dress or shoe styles? If you do, send me a note. |
